This summer Pope Francis published a decision called “The Ministry of Catechist.”  This is a very significant development.  It provides us an opportunity to look at catechists in terms of their basic mission, to form disciples for today, and also in terms of the broader issues of contemporary culture which make it more difficult to pass the faith on to future generations.
